Depending on the type of organization (business or NGO) and its development phase, the sort of investment and funds needed is totally different and there is a wide range of options: from crowdfunding, business angels, venture capital, banks, risk capital, incentives, grants, etc. 

In this module, we will explore the concept of fundraising and briefly present different funding models available for business and NGOs.

Special attention is, however, dedicated to one of the fundraising option models: Grant Funding. This module will thus explore what types of Grants are available and for what objectives each one might be used.

The module also explores how can you identify grant funding opportunities and what are the main steps to prepare a successful proposal to secure grant funding.

Learning Outcomes

Objective

The main objective is to make professionals working both at business and NGOs aware of the importance of using the funding to support the operational activities and projects of any organization and the existence of alternative funding models and sources. 

This module Fundraising emphasizes one of the funding models: Grant Funding, guiding participants through the different types of grant funding opportunities, and guiding them through the steps to prepare a successful application for Grant Funds.

At the end of this module, participants are expected:

  • to understand what Fundraising means and its importance for business and NGOs development.
  • to learn about the existence of different funding models and understand the importance of Grant Funding.
  • to monitor funding opportunities and select the best options for your organization.
  • to realize how to prepare an application for grant funding.
