Lithuanian Council for culture one of the main national bodies entrusted with funding the community’s cultural initiatives and research of the Lithuanian cultural policy conducted Regional survey of cultural and artistic organizations based in 57 out of 60 (excluding Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda cities) municipalities in 2022. The survey data should help Regional Councils for culture to identify priorities for balanced cultural development for the Regional financing model and to assess the challenges facing cultural and artistic organizations in the regions.
This is the second study. The survey was conducted for the first time in 2019. The study aims to assess the situation and potential of regional cultural organizations in 2019–2021, and to evaluate the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on them. Using the data form the Survey, LCC seeks to:
- • identify the variety of cultural and artistic organizations in the Regions (57 out of 60 municipalities);
- • identify the challenges Regional cultural and artistic organizations face;
- • gather the opinions of Regional cultural and artistic organizations about the Regional financing model;
- • analyze Covid-19 effect on Regional cultural and artistic organizations.
